The role of digital technologies in personal marketing

We are living in Internet era and fast rising globalization. Everything is at the tips of our fingers or we can say one mouse click away. Market competitiveness is even more challenging and unfavorable socio-economic climate makes it difficult. Labor relations are dynamic and there is an increase in number of people who frequently change employers (every few years, due to market conditions) and are moving in different directions for horizontal professional development. The previously mentioned thesis is one of the most significant reasons for quick development of this new marketing course – personal marketing. Until now, it was common for company to use web sites, but now more and more individuals have their own web sites which are used exclusively for their personal use. Regardless of the location of the workplace, they can promote their work, skills and abilities on a publicly available way. Widespread personal marketing leads to new opportunities for individuals who connect all the key components pragmatically (personal web site, social networks, model of personal development). Personal marketing was strongly influenced by the development of digital technology and internet which is the focus of this paper. The possibilities of this type of marketing are of great value. It is for these reasons that this final paper deals with the specific subject and covers the aforementioned area through the definition of digital marketing, presentation of the development and the emergence of personal marketing together with the component analysis of personal marketing and its metrics. The primary research analysis based on the Internet population in the Republic of Croatia is provided, which shows respondent views on the impact of digital technology on privacy and online presence.

Model – linking the economy with education

Small and medium-sized enterprises are the most vital part of the economy which the European Union emphasizes. All their needs can be aggregated within a number of independent institutions and within the so-called clusters. The model linking the economy with education is based on the formation of Centers for small and medium enterprises. According to this idea, every neighborhood in the city would have at least one location with various supportive content. The project integrates these Centers to multiple levels: education, economy, and socio-political factors. In this way, information technology can be brought closer to the wider public, especially children, and youth, but also adults, especially in our situation where many do not have a computer at home.

Centre for Small and Medium Enterprises would gather existing local businesses on a voluntary basis. It would be a utility service that has the purpose of easier workforce access and a place where they coordinate their joint appearance on the market. Students would be operational at information and computer workshops, publishing a local newspaper (free), assisting in the transfer of new technology in the operation of small and medium-sized enterprises and they would do some kind of publicity in the local newspaper for the SME’s. In this group of entrepreneurs typically belong companies and craftsmen with a small number of workers and have no possibility of employment of educated personnel to accompany tenders (domestic and foreign) and looking for partners for a joint appearance on the market, make tender documents and apply sophisticated knowledge and skills of the working students. The overall support is gained from young educated people (senior students and excellent students) from different areas of activity. This enhancement of small and medium-sized enterprises would contribute to greater employment. Chamber of Crafts would have a task for the Centre to provide it with one employee who would lead the business and administration. Such a model would greatly help the Chamber to justify the collection of dues from this group of businessmen and City to have lower unemployment and higher inflow of funds into its budget.

EU Funds

The funds are part of the material or financial resources designated for specific purposes. However, it is necessary to look at funds in terms of the European Union, which means that we are talking about the allocation of financial resources towards development of member states and candidate countries of the European Union. Studying funding programs is very important because in this way Croatia is learning to use the budget of the European Union on the one hand, and need to adapt to the new system on the other. So, it is good to have knowledge of what awaits us in the near future.

Implementation of European funds is done through a variety of programs to ensure the achievement of the goals of the European Union. There are several different ways for managing EU funds. Management can be centralized or decentralized. Centralized management means that funds are managed directly by the European Commission, and the decentralized management of these funds is left to the countries where the funds are allocated to manage. Currently there are programs of the Union pre-accession programs and Structural Funds.

European Union through the EU funds provides assistance in several forms:

  • Through programs or funds for all members of the European Union
  • Through the pre-accession programs or funds for countries that are in a state of EU accession
  • Through programs or funds for the third countries

Collaboration

All the more widespread term “global village” (more on: wikipedia „global village term“) is conditioning an increasingly wider need for cooperation and collaboration. In this age communication among individuals and groups is simplified through a variety of tools that anyone can use without charge, virtually anywhere and anytime. Is not unusual to see young people working together on a variety of papers, projects, events, etc. with colleagues from around the world. Collaboration becomes a normal thing in the society and it is simplified because of the more open access to modern technologies.

Of course, with mutual cooperation it is easier to achieve certain goals, whether the collaboration was planned or unplanned. It is important to conclude that not all collaborations are planned. For an example, we can analyze various Facebook groups which gather people of different interests and goals and together they generate temporary cooperations when the individuals inside the groups feel the need for it. All forms of cooperation from sharing some files to the common task solving can be seen as some form of collaboration. In these and similar ways of cooperation, information is spread with incredible speed and produces results very quickly, which was previously impossible due to poor knowledge of information technologies in the masses. But when we talk about planned collaborations of individuals, work groups or teams, then we see the full force of a combination of modern technologies and tools which lead to fantastic results.
